The emergence of antibiotic resistance in Gram-negative bacteria poses a significant challenge to global health. This has prompted the development of novel antimicrobials and combinations with β-lactamase inhibitors. The review discusses various resistance mechanisms, particularly focusing on newer drugs and their efficacy against resistant strains. It synthesizes findings from recent literature to provide insights into the molecular underpinnings of resistance.
