Recent advancements in antimalarial therapeutics have led to a reduction in malaria-related morbidity and mortality. The review emphasizes the importance of artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) and discusses the threat posed by emerging resistance, particularly in Southeast Asia. Additionally, it explores other antimalarial classes and the ongoing efforts to develop effective vaccines against malaria.
