The European Society of Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care (ESPNIC) conducted this systematic review to provide updated guidelines on IV-MFT for pediatric health care professionals. The review addresses five main questions regarding the use of IV-MFT, including the role of isotonic fluids and balanced solutions, as well as the composition and optimal volume of fluids. The findings aim to standardize IV-MFT practices to improve patient outcomes in critically ill children.
