Pregnancy poses unique challenges to the cardiovascular system, making the diagnosis of myocardial infarction (MI) particularly complex. This article reviews the incidence of MI during pregnancy, the associated maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality, and emphasizes the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to care. It outlines the diagnostic assessments and treatment plans necessary for managing pregnant women experiencing MI, as well as post-event care considerations.
