The guidelines are developed by the International Initiative on Thrombosis and Cancer (ITAC) advisory panel, which aims to establish global consensus on managing cancer-associated thrombosis. The recommendations include the use of low-molecular-weight heparins and direct oral anticoagulants for treating and preventing venous thromboembolism in cancer patients. The guidelines also address specific considerations for patients with COVID-19 and highlight the importance of individualized treatment plans based on patient risk factors.
